What Does Merger Mean
The Bishop’s appointment of Sr. Nancy to Immaculate Conception and Fr. Orr to St. Agnes with the instruction for them to work together toward an eventual merger has caused some distress.
So that you might better understand what the bishop intends for us to do; a merger entails the creation of a new parish from two or more parishes. This may be accomplished in a number of different ways. As a result, the parish councils of Immaculate Conception and St. Agnes are in the process of establishing a task force to investigate and propose to the bishop how the people of Lock Haven desire this merger to proceed. Over the course of the next few months this task force will be accumulating data and seeking the input of the people of our two parishes. If done well there is every reason to believe that the bishop will accept this proposal. Please, join in supporting the task force with your encouragement and your prayers. Thank you.
EMMAUS – The Emmaus Community will meet on September 16th at 6:00 PM at St. Agnes Parish Center.
Beginning next Sunday we will start to sell Basket Bingo tickets in the Vestibule of the Church.
